Following is a summary compilation of the agency's 2002-2003 performance.
3068 children (942 with disabilities) served in 56 centers in 16
counties.. .86% were provided free meals; 6% were provided reduced meals; and
8% were provided paid meals; 2,086 children provided dental examinations; 2,669
immunization; 1,932 other health services.
Of the 2,854 families of the children, 1,104 received social
services; parents and community volunteers contributed 46,306 volunteer hours
in support of the Head Start and related child/family development programs.
Audubon Area is a service agent for the Kentucky Child Care Assistance
Program (CCAP) in thirty-four western and central Kentucky counties. 10,214 families,
19,902 children, and 1,814 child care providers were provided services in these
counties.
Resource and Refferal provided 1,377 clock hours of training; 6,187
total attendees were trained; 231 received and responded to parent and community
calls regarding child care availability; assisted 265 child care providers in
attending community college classes; 6 assisted childcare providers in application
for, or attainment of their CDA.
- The Family Preservation Program served 50 families
from the seven counties. The F.A.C.T.S. (Families and Children Together Safely)
program began in November 1999, serving 30 families in seven counties.
- The Family Reunification Program began in July 1995.
This program worked with 23 family members.
This year clients were provided 142,500 trips in accordance with
the terms of the respective contractors' access requirements, and Empower Kentucky

Lincolnshire Apartments/Lincolnshire North Apartments, Home
Weatherization/Energy Conservation and Safety, Affordable Housing
Development...
- homes were weatherized throughout
the Green River Area.
- Kentucky Housing Corporation funded an Affordable Housing
Act (HOME) grant to substantially rehabilitate up to homes. ( ) homes (the
most that could be rehabilitated with the $ available) received substantial
rehabilitation in 2003-2004.
- The 208 units of HUD-assisted housing in Lincolnshire Apartments
and Lincolnshire North Apartments were acquired November 29, 1995, and this
year had a more stable year.
FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM: 54 volunteers in seven
counties provided 49, 691 service hours.
SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM: 95 volunteers in
seven counties provided 90,979 service hours.
RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM: 720 volunteers
in seven counties provided 165,404 service hours.

- Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program -- 7,717
families served; benefits of $705,347 provided to 42 Green River Area utility/energy
vendors.
