This award was received due to the collaborative effort known as the Breathe Easy Corps. The Corps volunteers will plant and care for 1,000 seedlings within seven Green River Area counties for a two-year period. The Daily Points of Light Award is given by the Points of Light Foundation in partnership with the Volunteer Center National Network, the Knights of Columbus, and the Corporation for National Service. It is designed to honor individuals and organizations who have made a commitment to connect Americans through service to help meet critical community needs especially those focused on the goals for children and youth set by the Presidents' Summit for America's Future.

Senior
Companion ProgramSCPs serve other adults needing special attention and support while remaining in their own home, thus preventing institutionalization and by saving the families and federal/state budgets. SCPs assist their adult "clients" independent living in a variety of supportive ways. SCPs are not maids or medical care professionals. SCPs do however, work in tandem with health care professionals and social service agencies to fulfil care plans for clients. Clients also enjoy the personal satisfaction of their own home, a greater sense of independence, continued purpose, and a deep sense of maintained dignity. Other household caretakers, when present, also benefit from SCPs providing them respite from those responsibilities. or otherwise in need of intensive, special, caring attention from an adult.
FGP "grannies" and "grandads" serve one-on-one with their assigned children.
They may tutor, counsel, assist, guide or help them in a variety of ways--basically
whatever is needed. FGPs serve schools, hospitals, shelters, Head Start, and
other child-serving facilities; FGPs provide their service under the direction
and supervision of professional staff.
