...and how do I use the Audubon Area VPN?[click here to find out]

A VPN a secure network in which data is encrypted on the sending end; transmitted from point-to-point through the Internet, via local Internet Service Provider(s); verified correct and complete from both ends of the transmission; and then decrypted on the receiving end.

The following chart from PC Magazine give a good depiction of a VPN and how it works.

How do I use the Audubon Area VPN?

There are two steps in the process. The first is management approval based on user and agency need for the VPN service. This involves approval both by your Program Director and the Executive Director.

Upon AACS management approval, Tim Stenberg, CNE, Audubon Area's Systems Engineer, must set you up as an approved VPN user with ID and Password. Then he must install the required VPN Client software on your local computer.
