Believe that you/we can Transform (y)our Future
"The significant problems we face cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created
them."
--Albert Einstein
Reclaim Your Power
We own the system, we are the system, it's up to us to transform our world.
Take Time
"We often engage in Fear, Frantic, Frenzy - We don't think we have enough time. We need to let
go and Trust - We have time and we must move forward in a way that brings healing and trust."
-- Daniel Kemmis, May 1995 Community Trust Institute Symposium
Understand that you are not In Control
We don't need to manipulate, propagandism and game our way into change. It won't take hold
this way anyway.
Remember too...
- There are no quick fixes
- Be a Mensch -- "a person having admirable characteristics,
- such as fortitude and firmness of purpose"
- Choose the open door
- Widen the circle
- Right relationship
- Work local -- on yourself, with your community
- Commit to the long haul
- Make room for Grace and miracles
Outdated Tools -- Pitfalls and Roadblocks...
- It's His Fault - Blaming problems on people
- Looking for a savior-hiring experts or seeking personalities to solve problems
- Losing Control -- But, if we don't intervene this, the whole thing will fail!!!
- Confusion - Recognizing and working the Cycles of Growth and Change
- Addiction to Turmoil and Crisis -- Spotting the signs and breaking the cycle
- The Naysayers -- Learn how to handle chronic complainers...professionally
- Hidden Agendas -- Keeping your objective under the table
- Manipulating information and people to serve your own "righteous" cause
- They are the enemy -- and we've got to save us from them
