POLICY COUNCIL MEETING
October 20, 1998
Minutes
The Audubon Area Head Start Policy Council met at the Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park in Dawson Springs on October 20, 1998. Sharra Mimms, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 1:13 p.m. Andrea Troutman made a motion to dispense with roll. Gayle McCloud seconded the motion; motion carried. A quorum was present.
Approval of Minutes:
Kim Gray made a motion to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Fonda Mattingly seconded the motion; motion carried.
Approval of Agenda:
Two additions were made to the Agenda. Cathy Thrasher made a motion to accept the agenda as corrected. Kelly Yates seconded the motion; motion carried.
Old Business:
Election of Policy Council Community Representatives. Nana Cobb made a motion to accept the Community Representatives. Fonda Mattingly seconded the motion; motion carried.
Committee Reports:
Personnel Committee: Cheryl McDaniel made a motion to accept the new hires and terminations. Lisa Kendall seconded the motion; motion carried.
By-Laws Committee: Carol Krampe went over the changes in the By-Laws, which were sent to all Policy Council members prior to the meeting. Mike Thompson made a motion to accept the new By-Laws. Sonjanita Granger seconded the motion; motion carried.
Nomination Committee: Cathy Thrasher gave the report. Nominations were also taken from the floor.
Vice-Chairperson: Jeannie Howard, Kim Gray, and Gayle McLeod. Gayle McLeod was elected as Vice-Chairperson.
Secretary: Sonjanita Granger and Cathy Thrasher. Sonjanita Granger was elected as Secretary.
Parliamentarian: Mike Thompson, Krissy Morris, Kelly Yates, and Lisa Kendall. Mike Thompson was elected as the Parliamentarian.
New Business:
Approval of the Procedures Manuals. Cathy Thrasher made a motion to accept. Shelia Brame seconded the motion; motion carried.
Directors, Budget, and Local Area Manager Reports:
These reports were received and filed for the record.
Forum – Open Discussion – Questions & Answers:
No concerns were raised at this meeting.
Adjournment:
There being no further business, Kim Gray made a motion to adjourn. Andrea Troutman seconded the motion; the meeting was adjourned with 25 members and 6 guests present.
