MINUTES
The Audubon Area Head Start Policy Council met at the Country Cupboard Restaurant in Madisonville on August 18, 1998. The meeting was called to order at 10:40 a.m. by Vickie Ratcliffe, Chairperson. Al Morrell made a motion to dispense with roll. Greg Baize seconded the motion; motion carried. A quorum was present. Approval of Minutes: Shirley Sutherlin made a motion to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Kim Gray seconded the motion; motion carried. Approval of Agenda: Sandra Buchanan made a motion to accept the agenda. Kim Holeman seconded the motion; motion carried. Old Business: FY99 Refunding Application: Aubrey went over the changes that were sent in to the Regional Office with the Policy Council. Committee Reports: Personnel Committee: Pat Barnes went over the list of new hires and resignations. Sanjanita Granger asked for a correction to the list of new hires; she was not present at the Ohio County Interviews. Pat Barnes made a motion to accept the new hires and terminations. Al Morrell seconded the motion; motion carried. Policy & Procedure Committee: No report. New Business: Approval of Policies & Procedures: Shirley Sutherlin made a motion to accept the procedures. Gayle McLeod seconded the motion; motion carried. Aubrey gave an overview of where the agency is in the completion of the procedures. Donna Newman went over sections 2.2 and 2.3 with the council. Self-Assessment Survey: Aubrey gave a brief summarization of the Self-Assessment and Program Improvement Plan. This report was received and filed for the record. Child Support Grant: Aubrey briefly discussed the proposal. This report was received and filed for the record. Directors, Budget, and Local Area Manager Reports: Al Morell made a motion to accept the Directors and Budget Reports as given. Kim Gray seconded the motion; motion carried. Cheryl McDaniel made a motion to accept the Local Area Managers reports as given. Jennifer Ewing seconded the motion; motion carried. Forum – Open Discussion – Questions & Answers: Todd County asked what the criteria was in reference to mileage of child’s residence in their acceptance in the program. Aubrey stated that he would check into the situation that was referenced. Adjournment: There being no further business, Gayle McLeod made a motion to adjourn. Al Morrell seconded the motion; the meeting was adjourned with 18 members and 6 guests present.
