The AAHS Policy Council met at the Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park in Dawson Springs on October 21, 1997. The meeting was called to order at 1:20 p.m. by Vicki Ratcliffe, Chairperson. Pam Bolen made a motion to dispense with roll call. Karen Hartley seconded the motion; motion carried. A quorum was present.

Additions to the agenda were as follows: under new business add #4 Approval of Planning Calendar and #5 Nomination and Election of Officers.
Committee Reports:
Personnel Committee: Carol Krampe went over the form that is given to the Policy Council each month to approve the personnel actions during the past month. Aubrey Nehring explained the role of the committee and it was stated that this handout will be voted on at the next months meeting due to the committee not being seated yet.
New Business:
Approval of the Community Representatives as stated on Policy Council Roster.
Approval of the Personnel Policies & Procedures. Approval of the Component Plans & Procedures. Approval of the Training Calendar.
Nominations for Officers. The nomination committee presented a roster of nominees for election and nominations were taken from the floor for the Officers of the 1997-98 Policy Council. Nominations were as follows:
Secretary: Lisa Kendall - Todd County, Lisa Mayes - Crittenden County, Pam Gardner - Caldwell County, and Christine Riveria - Caldwell County - Declined.
Elected as Secretary was Lisa Kendall, Parent Representative from Todd County.
Forum - Open Discussion - Questions & Answers:
The question was asked if Policy Council members are covered under Audubon's Insurance when traveling. Aubrey stated that he would check on this issue and report back to the Policy Council.
