The AAHS Policy Council met at Audubon Area Community Services, Inc. in Madisonville on January 21, 1997. The meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m. by Connie Wallace. Vicki Ratcliffe made a motion to dispense with roll call. Bill Hailey seconded the motion; motion carried. A quorum was present.
Approval of Minutes:
Rev. Roger Marsiglio made a motion to approve the Minutes from the last meeting. Kimberly Howard seconded the motion; motion carried.
Approval of Agenda:
Dwight Jackson made a motion to approve the Agenda. Joyce Sutton seconded the motion; motion carried.
Old Business:
OSPRI:Aubrey explained the report from the OSPRI team. Policy Council members shared some of their experiences with the OSPRI team. Aubrey thanked the council for their support and their presence in the centers while the team visited. Carol Krampe told the Council that the OSPRI team was extremely pleased with Aubrey and the work that he does.
December 1st KERA Count:Aubrey gave the report. The report was received and filed for the record.
Committee Reports:
Personnel Committee:Vicki Ratcliffe gave the report for the committee. All of the evaluations are up-to-date. There were 5 new hires and 16 terminations. Joy Somero made a motion to approve the committee report. Rhonda Rowan seconded the motion; motion carried.
Nominating Committee:Pat Barnes gave the report. She explained that because Kemberly Teal, PCA Webster County is a Policy Council Alternate, she could not hold office. The committee recommended that Greg Baize be elected for Secretary since he tied with Kemberly in November. Dwight Jackson made a motion to accept the recommendation. Rev. Roger Marsiglio seconded the motion; motion carried. Next was the election of Parliamentarian. Dorothy Graff was added to the ballot. Joy Somero was elected as the Parliamentarian for the Policy Council.
New Business:
COLA, Quality, & Expansion Funds.Aubrey went over this with the council. Aubrey passed out 2 handout and explained the process we use to determine how the money will be dispersed. This report was received and filed for the record.
Health/Career Fair. Carol gave the report. The fair will be held on April 11th at the Sports Center in Owensboro from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Please talk about this in your counties and encourage participation.
Transition Grant: Aubrey went over this with the council and handed out a Summary Sheet. Tammy West made a motion to accept the report. Sallie Mummert seconded the motion; motion carried.
Health Advisory Minutes.Bill Hailey made a motion to accept the minutes. Sandy Morse seconded the motion; motion carried.
Recruitment.Aubrey explained that there will be a training in February.
KHSA/NHSA Convention:Carol gave these reports to the council. Aubrey is giving the Officers a chance to go to Boston, Mass. for the NHSA Conference in May. Please let Sharon know by Friday if you will be attending. KHSA - there will be four slots for Policy Council members with perfect attendance. This conference will be held in Louisville on April 23-25, 1997.
KHSA - Scholarships:Carol went over what these are and who is eligible.

Joyce Sutton made a motion to accept the reports. Vicki Ratcliffe seconded the motion; motion carried. Reports were received and filed for the record.

Crittenden County—Fumes in car are extremely strong. Union County—needs a car or a car phone.
