POLICY COUNCIL MEETING

February 18, 1997

Minutes

 The AAHS Policy Council met at Audubon Area Community Services, Inc. in Madisonville on February 18, 1997. The meeting was called to order at 10:30 a.m. by Rhondalyn Randolph. Kemberly Teal made a motion to dispense with roll call. Liz Renfrow seconded the motion; motion carried. A quorum was present.

Approval of Minutes:

Liz Renfrow questioned eligibility to go to KHSA as stated in January minutes. Additions/corrections to be inserted in minutes: AA member may go if they have missed only one meeting @. Joyce Sutton made a motion to approve the Minutes from the last meeting with correction. Sandy Morse seconded the motion; motion carried.

Approval of Agenda:

Add #5 AKHSA Scholarships@to New Business. Ginger Glass made a motion to approve the revised Agenda. Kenneth Johnson seconded the motion; motion carried.

Old Business:

Expansion Progress Report given by Aubrey Nehring.A committee meeting will be called after we get the Request for Proposal.

 OSPRI Report given by Aubrey Nehring.AWas a very positive report@with no non-compliance found. Summary of strengths discussed. Handout of full report was provided to Policy Council members. Recommendations will be used to plan program improvement for next year. Report was received and filed for the record.

NHSA Program of Achievement Award received.Handout of award letter and summary provided to Policy Council members. We may apply next year for Award of Excellence. Report was received and filed for the record.

Committee Reports:

Personnel Committee:Rev. Greg Baize gave report of Personnel Committee noting hirings as noted in that committee minutes and list provided to all Policy Council members including one Involuntary Resignation — Cheryl Allen. Discussed Meal Monitor, Performance Evaluations. Vicki Ratcliffe motion to accept the report. Ginger Glass seconded the motion; motion carried.

Finance/Executive Committee:Connie Wallace gave the report. Committee recommended approval of COLA & Quality Application as noted in committee recommendations. Aubrey Nehring commented on the increases including attached handout of application. Patricia Jones made a motion to approve. Kemberly Teal seconded the motion; motion carried.

Selection Committee:Rev. David Flack gave the report recommending approval of Selection Policy. Motion was made by Kenneth Johnson and Seconded by Ginger Glass. All voted in favor to accept their recommendations.

Curriculum Development Committee:Report was given by Kemberly Teal. Carol Krampe made comments on the committee=s meeting. Motion made to accept the report made by Liz Renfrow. Seconded by Tammy West. All voted in favor.

New Business:

Recruitment Report given by Marian Simpson.This report was received and filed for the record.

Approval of Revised Health Procedure.Report was given by Donna Roby and a handout was given to the council. Motion made by Vicki Ratcliffe to accept. Seconded by Denise Inman. All voted in favor.

Welfare Reform report given by Aubrey Nehringnoting the need for child care funds shortage making it hard for parents to work. Report was received and filed for the record.

 KHSA attendance drawingconducted by Carol Krampe. Council members eligible for drawing read by Carol Krampe. Drawing performed.

Kenneth Johnson made a motion to accept the reports. Ginger Glass seconded the motion; motion carried. Reports were received and filed for the record.
