Kimberly-Clark, Owensboro Schools’ Foust Elementary School and Audubon Area’s Free to Grow did an incredible job of orchestrating in-kind donations for the park by tapping into companies for tents, food, children activities material, tools, cement and much more. An amazing Children’s Committee kept hundreds of little ones entertained for the entire two days, far away from the site. Safety precautions and coordination working on the site allowed the days to be injury-free.

The old Foust playground, made out of wood, had to be dismantled in 1995 due to children receiving numerous splinters while playing.
More than a playpark was built that day. Volunteers left the site having established new friendships, all the children shared a glimmer of hope in eyes that sparkled much brighter than before and everyone involved felt their heart grow a little bigger and warmer.
